Ø (Since) National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) has been recognized as a nodal agency for promotion of Urdu language and Urdu education ... The following areas of Urdu education are formally entrusted to the NCPUL: -
Ø Training of teachers of Urdu language and subject teachers of Urdu medium ..
Ø Conducting academic audit of all Urdu textbooks in whole of the country ...
Ø A National Core Curriculum be formulated for modern subjects (to be introduced in Madarsas) without any interference in the basic pattern of (religious) instruction (and) so devised (so as to) be holistic and job-oriented preferably computer-oriented (and to be) imparted through Urdu medium ..
Ø A Monitoring Agency be established by Government of India to oversee the impact of modernization (and) NCPUL may conduct impact assessment strategies ....
Ø Efforts ... be made to rediscover the roots of Urdu in the context of Indian civilization...
Ø Role of Urdu as an important link language in the common civil space ... be reaffirmed.
Ø Project "Urdu in contact with other Indian languages" ... already undertaken by the Council to be recast both in scope and articulation ...
Ø Urdu be declared as the national minority language and the bondage between Hindi and Urdu further strengthened.
Ø NCPUL should open one Model School in each minority-dominated district of the country.
Ø NCPUL should institute fellowships in Education, Culture and Linguistics in all ... Central Universities ...
Ø Knowledge of Urdu should be recognized as an additional qualification in all government services in all (Urdu-concentration States, namely, UP, Bihar, AP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, MP, Rajasthan and Haryana).
