.. Sudarshan has effectively demonstrated that there is no change in the organisation's policy towards the minorities. And that the Muslims and Christians continue to be suspect in the eyes of the RSS which has spent decades in trying to convince the majority community about the legitimacy of its assumptions ... In this day and age .. the RSS sounds like a voice from another century, a primitive band of men ... who are still beating the drums of communalism. Perhaps Sudarshan himself does not know what roots he is talking about ... He has legitimized the attack on the Christian community by speaking of the supposed Indianisation of the Church ... (He) drew his own rabid distinction between the "Indian" Christians and the "Western" Church ... Similarly Muslims were again reminded of their supposed Hindu. roots, and selective quotes were used to send home the message that this minority too is here on sufferance and should not take undue liberties ..

That the RSS camp was attended by Union home minister L.K. Advani and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Ram Prakash Gupta should be a matter of concern for a country which ... draws its strength and sustenance from ... secularism and democracy ...

The Agra meet has sent a strong anti-minority message down the line, and this will have its impact on the BJP whether it is in or out of the government. The RSS has not soft-pedaled the message, the minorities have to follow RSS guidelines if they want to live in peace. The BJP government will be expected to protect the RSS and its front organizations like the VHP if there is violence ...

Its cadres (will) watch over the minorities to ensure that they demonstrate their suspect patriotism at every turn and corner ... All in all Sudarshan has acted true to type, followed the well laid out line, and shown that he has brought no new thinking or insights into the RSS which remains full steam ahead on the anti-minority track.
