Bangalore Declaration released by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board at the conclusion of the 14h Session of the Board ... expresses concern over the fact that attempts were being made to ignite communal passions (and feels) that the idea behind whipping up the communal frenzy is to divert popular attention from real issues like poverty, illiteracy and underdevelopment ...

The Board appeals to religious leaders, intellectuals. journalists, teachers and other opinion-makers not to remain mute spectator to the fascist attempts to destroy the democratic and secular foundations of the country at the behest of external and imperial forces and all right thinking citizens of this country must come out to do their best to promote communal amity, peace and respect for  each other.

The Declaration expresses concern over what it called State Terrorism against religious minorities and appeals to religious minorities to evolve a common strategy to collectively confront the threat and take the message of unity of God and mankind to our other brothers in the country.

The Declaration calls upon the community to be true and practice Muslims rise above petty distinctions of regions, groups and communities and unite itself on the basis of unity of faith and to solve their differences by approaching Sharia Panchayats or Dar-ul-Qaza as well as shun meaningless and evil customs and social practices in- the matters of marriages etc.
