It needs no reiteration that the RSS is a political organisation with a clear-cut political-ideological perspective, working in the guise of a "social outfit". The RSS. which aims to establish Hindu Raj based on the philosophy of Hindutva, guides and controls its political arm, the BJP. The notification issued by the BJP government in Gujarat is nothing but a measure aimed at infiltrating and communalising the administration in the state ...

RSS Chief's Statement

... The Gujarat Government's decision was obviously based on its own assessment that the RSS is a socio- cultural organisation and not a political body ..

The RSS had not sought the withdrawal of the circular prohibiting government employees from participating in its activities, because RSS work has never been dependent on any Government's attitude, positive or negative, towards it.

I would therefore like to reiterate ... that the RSS for its part is unconcerned whether the original circular of the Gujarat Government exists or not. (Source: The Organiser)
