I will convene a meeting of Muslim leaders in November to discuss the formation of a political party to represent the community.

I shall like my father continue to serve the Muslim community by giving them strength, inspiration and courage. The atmosphere in India today is full of hatred and viciousness and the Muslims are the direct victims of it.

There is no unity among Muslims and this is used by all political parties for their own gains. I want to tell Muslims not to be carried away by false promises made by any political party that takes them for a ride. They should take away these crutches and support systems which do not do anything for them. 1 will tell the Muslim community that we should become a power that could defeat a political party which does not realize our potential as a community. I will create awareness among Muslims so that they can realize their potential and political strength to change the course of political history. There are 140 million Muslims in the country but what is the government doing for them? There is no education or employment for us. The government has to give us reservations in education which will not only empower us but will also strengthen the country ... BJP (has made) only verbal promises. They are not doing anything to make the Muslims forget the past. We gave them a chance in 1977 and 1989,but they never did anything for us.
