The people of the country in general and those of Uttar Pradesh in particular were very much with us. They knew well beforehand that Mulayam's Government was likely to impose many autocratic, restrictive and repressive measures on Kar Sevaks and the Hindu pilgrims. They made small and narrow pathways at many places near UP border and inside UP which passed through jungle areas, avoiding police cordons and checkposts. They helped the Kar Sevaks at many places to cross the border areas and pass through villages. They even arranged tractors at many places to carry them. Food and accommodation were generously arranged by them at almost all villages enroute.
Hindu nationalist consciousness has risen to a considerable extent.
The Kar Sevaks have, in fact, revitalized the courageous character of the Hindus Teargas, lathi-charge and firing could not stop the peaceful Kar Sevaks on their determined path They proceeded and ultimately hoisted the Bhagwa Flag on the domes of the Babari structure at Shree Ram Janmabhoomi.
Our movement has been peaceful all through. We have acted only on fundamental rights given to us by our sacred constitution.
We, Hindus, by tradition have never accepted hinsa or violence as a means to the end. The Kar Sevaks have only displayed the spirit of assertion in order to fight injustice done to them. We want Hindus to be assertive and not violent.
The Hindus will no longer tolerate injustice. They will definitely assert themselves for their rights. Hence it is high time that politicians and the administration should change their attitude towards Hindus.
The concept of Hindu Rashtra is not based on religious theocracy, unlike the Christian and Islamic States. The concept of Hindu Rashtra is based on Sarva Dharma Samabhava. There is absolute freedom of worship and faith in the concept of Hindu Rashtra, because Hindus by tradition are not bound to any particular religious text like the Christians or the Muslims. Moreover, the word Hindu is representative of a nation of people having common tradition, history culture and sociology. Therefore, those who call us communal are themselves confused and do not have a clear-cut vision of either secularism or nationalism. The concept of Hindu Rashtra is secular. The Muslims and Christians need not entertain any fear in this regard. If they entertain the idea that the politicians, political parties, the government or the administration can be a guarantee for their safety, then they are sadly mistaken. No politician, political party, government or administration can guarantee their safety. It is the Hindu Samaj alone, which can guarantee their safety. Government can come and go, but they cannot assure them of their safety. Muslims are free to live here as citizens. But if they try to live as invaders, Hindu Samaj is no longer prepared to tolerate this attitude. I appeal to the Muslims in general to revolt against their so-called Muslim leaders who are trying to detract them from the path of Nationalism and inculcating in them a sense of separateness. They should feel one with this sacred soil and be proud of their common culture, heritage, history and sociology. The movement for the liberation of Janmabhoomi will continue till we achieve our goal. I want to appeal to our Muslim brethren once again that there is still time to ponder over it and come to a mutual settlement by handing over the three sacred places to the Hindus, namely - Ram Janmabhoomi, Krishna Janmasthan and Gyan Vapi, Varanasi. If they fail to decide on this then we will start our campaign for liberating 3000 sacred places of Hindus desecrated by Muslim vandalism. The choice is now upto them Whether for 3 or for 3000.
The issue of the Ram Janmabhoomi should be delinked from party politics. The only possible political solution is that all political parties irrespective of their strategies should accept the fact of Ram Janmabhoomi and allow the Hindus to construct the Temple.
