LK Advani has consistently defended the VHP and the Bajrang Dal, saying he knows there is no criminality in them, The Acharya now retaliates saying it is Advani's responsibility to curb ISI activities ...

Are the public expected to swallow such rubbish. When two trains collide ... in north Bengal, it is the ISI who did it. Anyone caught with foreign exchange ... is a carrier for the ISI. Now the ogres of the ISI are targeting the Christian community, burning their churches, molesting their nuns, burning their Bibles and currently insisting on reconverting them to Hinduism ... It is a wonder that the mega-cyclone in Orissa is not blamed on the malevolent agency, diverting strong winds away from the Bangladeshi coast and after increasing their velocity by means unknown, moving them over the hapless state of Orissa.

The ISI have become the agency for all seasons. This is reminiscent of the pronouncements of another VHP worthy now dead, Swami Vamdev, who insisted on two propositions. One, that the Babari Masjid had forgotten to stand up and "had fallen down by itself". Two, that there was a temple of Vishnu underneath the Jama Masjid in Delhi and when asked how he knew, replied with a straight face -- break down the Masjid first and you will find it!

It does seem that logic and ... argument are not the strongest points of VHP leaders. If the ISI are omnipotent, omniscient and all powerful as they are made out to be, Pervez Musharraf would be master of all of India without firing a shot ... For the benefit of the VHP, there are the murders of Graham Staines and his minor sons to be taken to trial, the recent spate of simultaneous attacks on churches in Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Karnataka to be thoroughly investigated. And criminal acts like rape and molestation of nuns and other mischief to be investigated and pursued ... Must all crimes be political before action can be avoided.

This hands off attitude must change. The president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India, says he is "disappointed" by the government's response. We are not so polite. We demand an answer!
