Thakre on Coalition Compulsion

Kushabhau Thakre ... said that his party had supported the V.P. Singh Government (in 1989) from outside on the condition that it would not interfere with BJP's agenda. The condition was violated by the Janata Dal with the arrest of Shri Advani at Samastipur in Bihar in the midst of his Rathyatra to Ayodhya.

... Thakre reiterated that the Mandir was not on the National Agenda. The new government will be a coalition government and the BJP has realised the compulsions of coalition politics. It has also realised that a BJP-led coalition was necessary to keep Congress out of power and has, therefore, put a moratorium on issues like the Mandir and Article 370 ... Thakre who was addressing a press conference in Nagpur referred to Ayodhya issue as the Congress is trying to confuse the voters on such issues. (Source: The Organiser)
