.. Tamil Nadu has traditionally been a haven of peace. It was Hindu Munnani (Hindu Front) a frontal organisation of Sangh Parivar which launched a violent tirade against Islam and Muslims.

Dalits in Tamil Nadu have been embracing Islam in large numbers ever since the advent of Islam in South India. However, the Meenakshipuram conversions in the early '80s provoked the Sangh Parivar .. , The conversion of Dalits to Islam is not the fault of Muslims. Yet encouraged by Chief Minister MGR, Sangh Parivar like RSS, VHP, Hindu Munnani etc., made their appearance in Tamil Nadu.

Hindu Munnani headed by one Ramagopalan a full time Swamsevak spitted venom against Islam and Muslims, the Holy Prophet and his Household ... in general .. in the most derogatory terms. Even Uma Bharati and Sadhvi Rithambara's blasphemous speeches would pale into insignificance when compared to the volatile speeches of the Hindu Munnani leaders. These speeches were delivered in the public throughout the state and the State administration took no cognizance of these outrageous activities.

Along with these blasphemous speeches, the Sangh Parivar outfits also whipped up anti-Muslim and anti- Christian passions. The Ganesh immersion ceremony which was small affair in Tamil Nadu till the mid '80s was made into a mass festival and exploited for anti-Muslim riots. Many peaceful towns in Tamil Nadu became sensitive areas after Ganesh processions.

Sangh Parivar outfits also killed nearly 42 innocent Muslims during the last 10 years.
