Silent Testimony Of Sikh Gurus Note by Sher Singh, Calcutta

If one man in India had the moral courage to call Babur 'a Jabir' i.e. an oppressor, in front of him, he was the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak... (1469-1539).... an eye-witness to Babur's (invasion) of India in 1520, 1524 and 1526. (He) has spared no expletive to roundly condemn Babur's cruelty and treatment of innocent citizens.... His description of the rape of Lahore... will make even a hardcore criminal weep...

Guru Nanak also visited Ayodhya around 1528-29 (The Sikh Review, April 1988) and stayed at Brahmghat, only 200 m (west of) Baburi Masjid... The historical Sikh gurdwara still exist(s) there to commemorate his visit. It has been mentioned nowhere by Guru Nanak that Babur destroyed or desecrated any Hindu temple. Guru Nanak does not accuse Babur of any iconoclastic zeal, nor... of anti-Hindu crusade.

Guru Tegh Bahadur, the 9th Guru, also visited Ayodhya in 1671. He also stayed at Gurdwara Brahmghat, (Tawarikh Guru Khalsa - Bhai Gian Singh, Vol.I)... He has not mentioned anywhere in his writings that Baburi Masjid was built after demolishing Janamsthan temple or that Aurangzeb had demolished any terrace in the compound of Baburi Masjid, (allegedly done in 1664).

Guru Gobind Singh (then known as Gobind Das) had also visited Ayodhya in... 1672... when he was only 6 years old... He halted at (the same) Sikh Gurdwara previously... The details of his visit are also recorded in Gurpatap Suraj. 'He visited Hanuman Garhi, Ram Chandra Asthan, places connected with Sita and met many sadhus.' (Tawarikh Guru Khalsa, Bhai Gian Singh Vol. I p.3. Ram Chandra Asthan... is now known as Janmasthan-Sita Rasoi and stand(s)... north of Baburi Masjid... separated by (a) metalled road.... He was stated nowhere in his writings that Baburi Masjid was built after demolishing Janmasthan Temple.

No Demolition Of 300 Mosques In Pakistan

Official Statement by Pakistan High Commission

In Mainstream (November 24, 1991) Mr. K.R. Malkani wrongly stated that 300 mosques had been levelled in Panno Agil in Pakistan for the purpose of building a cantonment. We have ascertained the facts which falsify Mr. Malkani's assumption. No village or mosque was demolished at Panno Agil for building a cantonment.

 Moosavi's Message

The (Babari Masjid) issue is most important and crucial and it should be solved as soon as possible...

...The issue... should be solved through mutual negotiation through the religious heads of both the communities...

...In a civilised country there is no way except mutual negotiation or finally the verdict of court.

The Supreme Council of Ulema and Khutaba (India)... has made it clear that Islam's rule and regulations do not allow shifting of any Masjid...
