May I draw your attention to a Meeting of some 60 IAS/IOS officers of the UP cadre addressed by the RSS chief Rajendra Singh in Lucknow?

The first explanation was that this was a meeting of the Allahabad University Alumni Association. Now it appears that the Association's office-bearers know nothing about it and had not convened the meeting. Secondly, the officers invited were the alumni of other Universities, in fact some of them outside the State.

Such blatant indoctrination by the RSS or any other ideological or political group is bound to polarise and destroy the civil service and certainly bring into question it political neutrality.

I request you to take notice of this incident and as the head of the Civil Service, issue suitable instructions to all concerned.
