SP: Election Manifesto (Excerpts)


 

The S.P. is committed to social change and stands for equitable distribution of education, capital and power among all classes in the society.

After independence, the Muslims have faced hostile discrimination and injustice, because of the communal mentality for which the Congress and the communal forces are equally responsible.

1.The S.P. is committed to provide reservation to Muslims in employment, trade and politics.

2.The S.P. stands for reservation for women in Legislatures and to give proportionate representation to Muslims, Dalits and OBC's in the women's quota.

3.The S.P. will amend Constitution to provide reservation in admission to medical and engineering colleges for Dalits, OBC's and minorities.

4.The S.P. will amend Constitution to provide 10% reservation for the economically weaker sections of the upper castes.

5.The S.P. will provide protection to the traditional occupations of the minorities.

6.The S.P. shall delete false and imaginary contents about minorities from history textbooks.

7.The S.P. shall implement the report of the Srikrishna Commission and punish the culprits.

8.Urdu will be connected with livelihood.

9.Schools shall be opened in minority areas.

10.Court orders in Babari Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi case shall be implemented.

11.There shall be no governmental interference in Muslim Personal Law.

12. All sections of the people and their places of worships shall be protected; there shall be strict legal action against anyone causing damage to any place of worship.

All protected places of worship shall be opened for worship.

Legal action shall be taken against them involved in anti-Sikh disturbances in 1984 and in post-demolition disturbance in 1992.

13. Shanti Suraksha Bal shall be statutorily established to prevent communal violence.
