On the 25h of April 1977 the caravan of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) set forth on its long and arduous journey from the hallowed precincts of the Aligarh Muslim University. Today, more than two decades later, it finds itself at the vanguard of the Muslim community in India ... A combination of its own negligence and apathy towards the Divine instructions of Islam ... and the unrelenting tyranny of the rule of Unbelief (Kufr) ... has resulted in the decline and decay (of) the Muslim community.
(There is) a dark and unholy conspiracy hatched by the enemies of Islam who are united in their efforts to the extinguish the light of Islam ... (The world Muslim community) is today wallowing in the depths of despondency and uncertainty. Its proud sons who were once restless in their desire for conquest after conquest are today forced to live off the mercy of others. The brave knights who ... trampled crowns in disdain ... themselves embroiled in bloody, internecine feuds. All (this) makes the Muslim Ummah an inviting ... morsel for fascist, Hindus and Jews ... The community which was divinely chosen as the "best community raised from mankind", and a "witness for the people" is today compelled to shirk its ... responsibilities. The reins of the world are today in the bloody hands of those who have chosen to trend the wrong path and are guilty of flagrant violations of the rights of others.
The whole Islamic world is groaning under the cruel and corrupt governments and false gods. Irreligious secular leaders are leading the Millat itself to its destruction. The youth of the Ummah are whiling away their time in luxuries and extravagances. The learned Clema are woefully unaware of the demands of the times and blissfully unmindful of the need to revive the Islamic political institution of Khilafat ... Petty sectarian prejudices have divided the religious scholars and played havoc with the fabric of the Muslim society. And as each episode of this sad drama unfolds, the Muslim community in general and its youngsters in particular, look on from their safe- houses ..
In such a (situation), it is the responsibility of this community to ... face the challenges that surround it, to revive Deen, to lead and guide not only the Islamic world, but all humanity along the 'Straight Path' and rescue it from the clutches of the Satanic powers ...
It is with this purpose that SIMI strives tirelessly ... to inculcate Muslim students and youngsters with Islamic principles, mould their characters along Islamic lines, and prepare them to struggle for the truth. They are also trained and exhorted to invite to their non-Muslim brethren to the Right Path ...
Important Sections of SIM Tehreek-e-Tulbah-Arabiyah
SIM feels an acute need to instill students of madrasas (religious schools) with the revolutionary spirit and to encourage them to rise above petty, sectarian differences. It is expected that their ranks will provide the ... leadership which will ultimately be instrumental in rousing the Muslim masses for an Islamic Revolution ...This section has been a huge success.
Girls Wing: ... SIM has organised a Girls Wing and young girls have responded to it throughout the country ...
Shaheen Force: Shaheen force works among children to educate them about Islam and build up their character on the lines of Islam. Various programmes that would interest children like quiz competitions, picnics etc. are conducted for this purpose.
Come and Join us in our Struggle
If you are below thirty years of age then you can join the ranks Ikhwaan, Ansaar or A'wan of our organisation. And even if you are more than thirty, there are ways in which you can still fulfill your responsibilities towards Islam. (Source: The Islamic Movement, Vol. I, 1999)
Islamic Monotheism & Hindu Pantheism
Shahabuddin's Letter to The Organiser. 22 Oct .. 99
Shri G.P. Jain in his letter "Islamic Dogma" (Organiser, 24 October) has tried to equate Hindu pantheism with Islamic monotheism. Philosophically and conceptually the two cannot meet. Secularism lies in accepting the difference and respecting each other's faith, not in participating in rituals which militate against one's faith.
Muslim believe that the Holy Prophet was the last (not the sole) Messenger of God to mankind. In fact Muslims believe that Allah appointed Messengers in all ages to all human communities. Islam envisages a multi-religious world and, therefore, does not permit use of force or coercion against non-Muslims in matters of religion.
The word 'Kafir' is a descriptive term to denote a person who 'denies' the existence of God or does not believe in Islam but it is wrong to say that non-believers 'deserve submission by force'.
Democracy implies freedom, including freedom of conscience and of religion. Personal law of all religious communities is based on religion and in the case of Muslim, rests on scriptural authority. If majoritarianism rides roughshod over basic beliefs and fundamental rights of religious minorities, India will no longer be a democracy.
