Relocation of Public Convenience (Lavatories)

The team also explored the area for identifying a suitable site for relocating the toilets presently  constructed over the grave of poet Zauq, in a nearby area so that the public is not inconvenienced. A vacant plot measuring 16.20 X 12m located towards the north east direction of the grave was found suitable for this purpose. The proposed plot is lying vacant at present and being misused unauthorisedly. This is the only vacant space available in the locality where alternative lavatory block could be constructed"

We agree with the recommendations of the Committee as given in para 6 of the Report regarding re-location of public convenience (Lavatories), quoted above. The plot measuring 16.20 X 12M is a vacant plot ... We direct the DDA to hand over vacant possession of the plot to MCD before 6 PM today, November 6, 1996 ... We direct the ... MCD Chief Architect, to prepare the Plan in respect of the public convenience (lavatories) at the new site ... We request Mr. V.K. Duggal, Commissioner, MCD to have the work executed according to the time-schedule fixed by us.

The Team has also recommended in para 4 of its Report that approximately an area measuring 25 X X 21.5 M (537 sq. m) is required for the proposed retrieval/ construction of the grave of poet Zauq. We agree with the recommendation in principle ... We are of the view that as at present, the area comprising all existing toilet and the area in possession of occupants 1, 2, 3, and 4 shall only be taken over for the purpose of retrieval and construction of the Monument. The construction at 1, 2, 3 and 4 have to be demolished. These persons shall be paid compensation for the super-structure. The land belongs to DDA.
