Do (Mahatma Gandhi's) views of Hinduism ... square with the notions of Hinduism held by those who demolished the Babari Masjid, those who justified that act by drawing attention to the alleged destruction of temples by Muslims in Kashmir, those who hypocritically regret the demolition as an unfortunate accident and blame the Central Government for it but refuse to accept their own responsibility, those who refused to perform crime, and those who, finally, continue to threaten a repeat performance of the demolition (at) other mosques in Kashi and Mathura?                                       (Source: Letter in The Indian Express, 4 October 1997)
