(It is not too late for the nationalist Muslims) to come out openly against the patently anti-national actions of their co-religionists acting as the enemy's agents.
Hence, now the time is congenial for the nationalist Muslims to raise their voice against such blatantly anti- national activities being indulged in by the enemy, their agents and protectors here, whoever they may be. Thereby they will be doing a signal service to their community who badly needed it all these past decades.
This last point needs a little more of frank elucidation. There is no use denying the fact that those who led the movement for the Partition of the country were drawn from these very parts which have remained with that is now called Bharat and very few of them had left for Pakistan during 1947-48 and an overwhelming majority of them had remained behind ... However, when the present-day Muslim leadership identifies itself with even the predatory actions of foreign invaders like Babur and Aurangzeb who were not even their ancestors, then is it any wonder that the Hindus feel that the overall Muslim psychology has not changed a whit even to this date? And when the present Muslim League also proudly claims that it is the same party which dismembered the country and the entire Muslim community supports that League in Kerala, does it stand to reason to condemn Hindus if they refuse to take the protestations of the Muslim leaders of their loyalty to the country at its face value? Suspicion is further strengthened when they find practically no voice being raised from among the prominent Muslims against the present-day Muslim leadership and their supporting parties who are shielding the enemy's strategy.
Hence this is an appeal to the genuine nationalist elements among the Muslims to ... speak out their minds and give a new lead to their hitherto misled Muslim masses. And they can certainly hope to receive not only overall national support but more so from among their own-co-religionists .... (Source: The Organiser, 17 May, 1998)
