Resolution
We, who have assembled here to protest the attack on the Babari Masjid at Ayodhya, India.
Stand for the following Ideals
(1) We stand for the upholding of democratic values, religious, cultural and political self-expression and self-determination and for the right of all human beings to a life of respect and dignity in India.
(2) We recognize and cherish the rich cultural, religious and ethnic diversity of India and firmly believe that these diverse elements can maintain their distinct identities, and yet enrich one another, by living in respect and harmony.
(3) We further recognize that no one identity constitutes the identity of India to the exclusion of others.
And therefore Resolve
(1) To strongly condemn the call given by the VHP, RSS and BJP to redefine India based on a cultural, religious and social homogeneity and call for a strong opposition to this fascistic, retrogressive, Hinduization of India.
(2) To strongly denounce the repeated assaults on the Babari Masjid as the latest example in the denial of self-expression and in their effort towards Hinduization.
(3) To extend our salutations and greetings to our brothers and sisters who either in their individual capacity or as part of various grass-root organisations are fighting selflessly for the restoration of democratic values and the continuance of India's rich cultural, religious and ethnic diversity.
