Hindutva is nothing but a Hindu version of imperialist-backed Zionist movement and Muslim League's movement of creating Pakistan on the basis of two-nation theory. Its lingo and jingo can be different but it serves the same (interests) under the garb of patriotism ..
Only few months rule of Hindutva-led coalition government has made it obvious that its doublespeak is not confined only to issues like Ayodhya, uniform civil code and Article 370 regarding Kashmir but almost on every issue it has talked about in the past. Those who have been studying Hindutva literature will confirm the fact that they have always advocated a strong central government. They had talked about dividing India into four administrative zones - North, West, East and South. Today they are in a hurry to say okay to every proposal for formation of a separate state.
There was a time Hindutva forces had opposed the formation of linguistic states as advocated by Gandhiji. They only thought in terms of "Hindus" and "non-Hindus". While all other states were formed on the basis of language, they opposed the formation of Punjabi Suba or Punjabi speaking state merely because it will reduce Hindus in to a minority in Punjab where Sikhs constitute a natural majority ... They preached Hindus to deny Punjabi as their mother tongue and claim that their mother tongue was Hindi. This created a divide between Hindus and Sikhs in Punjab and ultimately generated Sikh militancy and demand for Khalistan.
While the political wing of the Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh, the BJP, tells us that it has no plan to build temple in Ayodhya. VHP declares that it will build temple at the disputed site within three years, disregarding even the court verdict. We are now having a play in Mumbai that eulogises Nathuram Godse, and justifies the killing of Mahatma Gandhi.
The VHP's activities in predominantly Christian North East have been again based on the wrong understanding of nationalism. They ... also say Hindutva is synonymous with being Indian (Bharatiyata) and that Hindu is one who believes in a religion that originated in India (Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism etc.) and those who follow religions (such as Islam, Christianity etc.) that originated out of India cannot be considered Indian as their nationalism cannot be trusted because their holy places (Mecca, Madina, Rome etc.) are out of India.
It is with this rotten ... concept of nationalism they question the patriotism and nationalism of Christians and Muslims who have a better record of fighting for India's freedom than the Hindutva people who never participated in freedom struggle. Forty per cent of soldiers in Subhas Bose's Indian National Army were Muslims.
It is for this mistrust of Muslims and Christians that they suggest quixotic solutions to solve Kashmir problem and insurgency in North East. They want to settle Hindus in Kashmir in large numbers to turn the Muslims there into minority (and) Hindus of Nepali origin in Christian dominated states of North East India.
They are also carrying on conversion campaign on such a big scale that even former Lok Sabha Speaker P.A. Sangma had to lodge a protest against it ... .. It is Hindutva that now sustains Pakistan. Why Muslims of Pakistan and Bangladesh should joint India when there are elements who destroy mosques and indulge into riots. The day we defeat Hindutva forces in India, Pakistan will collapse like a pack of cards.
