Despite the efforts of such of its leaders as Mr. Vajpayee, the BJP has never ceased to be a party of the high caste Hindus, who are a small minority in the total Hindu community and smaller than the Dalits, with whom the BSP has managed to identify itself ... The latter are rebels against the traditional dominance of the high castes.
