On 7th Anniversary of the Demolition AIMPLB-BMC, BMMCC & AIBMAC's Statement, 26 November, 1999

"To mark the 7th Anniversary of the Demolition of the Demolition on 6 December, 1999, the Babari Masjid Movement, represented by All India Muslim Personal Law Board - Babari Masjid Committee, Babari Masjid Movement Coordination Committee and All India Babari Masjid Action Committee have decided to organise a National Seminar in New Delhi.

The Seminar will serve to inform the people of the VHP's unlawful plans in Ayodhya, Mathura and Varanasi and suggest ways and means to expedite the hearing of the title suit pending before the Special Bench of the Allahabad High Court, the inquiry in the circumstances of the Demolition by the Liberhan Commission and the prosecution of the criminal case by the Special Court of those charge-sheeted by the CBI.

Eminent Jurists, political leaders and academicians are expected.to participate in the Seminar. The Committees request the secular parties to organise befitting programmes on 6 December, 1999 to expose and foil the game plan of the Sangh Parivar and to raise the Ayodhya/ Mathura/Varanasi situated in the Parliament during the Winter Session and press the Central Govt. to take all possible steps to curb the bellicose tendencies of the Sangh Parivar and to protect the status quo on the disputed site in Ayodhya and in the Masjids in Varanasi and Mathura.

The Committees have decided to give a free hand to the State and district units to observe peacefully the Anniversary of the Demolition in any manner they deem fit and extend full cooperation to any secular party or NGO in organising a programme to mark the occasion. They may also arrange their own programme, if they so wish, such as local bandh, post-Namaz Doa, hall meeting etc. But in order to avoid confrontation, they should not take out a procession or stage a demonstration or a rally."
