The Bhopal Rubat in Makkah is a five storey building located in Shamia and was constructed with the compensation for the demolition of original Bhopal Rubat and subsequent acquisition of its site by the Makkah Municipality ... Pilgrims from M.P. who are granted exemptions by the Rubat authorities in India are accommodated in this Rubat ... The present capacity as scrutinized by the Makkah Municipality during Haj 1996 is 148. The present Nazir is Mr. Mohd. Saleh Abdus Samad Saati ... This Rubat is being managed efficiently.
The Bhopal Rubat in Madinah is a multi-storied building at Shar-e-Sittin and is fully functional under the Nazarat of Mr. Mohd. Zahir Usmani ... The capacity is 230 ... Since the duration of stay in Madinah is 8-9 days only, two batches of 230 pilgrims each stay during pre and post Haj periods ... Thus raising the capacity to 960. This is also one of the best managed Indian Rubats ... (Source: CGI, Jeddah)
On Tonk Rubats in Makka and Madinah
The former princely family of Tonk (Rajasthan) had constructed three Rubats in Makkah and two in Madinah. Makka: All the three Rubats in Makkah were declared unsafe by the Municipality and demolished. The present status of Rubats at Makkah is as under:
Nazirs of the Rubats have been able to reconstruct two multi-storied buildings on the vacant plots. These are called "Qasr Al-Aqeeq" at Shamia and "Qasr Al-Muddah" at Harratul Bab. These Rubats, however are not being used to accommodate the pilgrims. The Nazirs Amin Dehalavi and A. Razzak Dehlavi have rented out these buildings to some companies. Out of the rent from these buildings, they accommodate only 224 pilgrims at Makkah. According to them, the balance of the rent is being used for repayment of the construction cost ...
The Nazirs ... do not at all cooperate with the CGI, Jeddah or even divulge any information ..
Madinah: The two original Rubats in Madinah were demolished for extension of the Haram-e-Nabwi. The Nazir Amin Dehlavi has got two new buildings constructed out of the compensation.
The first is a five-storied building with modern amenities, including a lift. It has a capacity of around 500 but the number of pilgrims can be increased upto 1000, in a phased manner.
The CGI, Jeddah, has been requesting the Mutawalli in India and the Nazir ... to agree to accommodate 1000 pilgrims ... but neither has responded .... The second Rubat has been constructed in "Sammania" and has become partially operational since Haj 1997. During Haj 1997 the Nazir (is reported to have) mis-utilised it by lodging outsiders and not Indian pilgrims.
