There is a need of :
Codification of Islamic Law by legal experts, religious scholars and Ulema.
Setting up of Shari'ah courts/Muslim Matrimonial Courts where legal and religious experts and scholars having deep knowledge in Islamic law be appointed as Judges. (For example, Parsi Chief Matrimonial Court or District Matrimonial Court) and which be recognized and given statutory authority.
Establishment of an Arbitration Council with statutory powers to deal with matrimonial matters. Such council should have at least one religious scholar and one legal expert.
Bar to second marriage by the husband without the permission/intervention of the Arbitration Council.
Introduction of a model Nikahanama by authorised institutions, boards or councils, in which providing for delegation of divorce, arbitration in matrimonial disputes and bar on triple talaq. (Paper presented to I.EW.L. Conference, Bangalore, 28-20 Dec., 1999)
