On Ram Janma Bhoomi-Babari Masjid Issue

 The hearing in the 4 suits related to the title of the disputed area, on which the Ram Janma Bhoomi-Babari Masjid Structure (including the premises of the inner and outer courtyards of such structure) had stood, continued before the Special Full Bench of Allahabad High Court at Lucknow. After a detailed hearing, the Court has framed some additional issues and also recast some of the issues which were framed in these suits prior to their abatement w.c.f. 7.1.1993 following the promulgation/enactment of the Acquisition of Certain Area at Ayodhya Ordinance/Act, 1993 by which the Central Government acquired the disputed and some other adjacent area at Ayodhya in the wake of the demolition of the RJB-BM Structure on 6.12.1992. The Court has started recording of evidence in these title suits.

On Liberhan Ayodhya Commission of Inquiry:

Proceedings before the Liberhan Ayodhya Commission of Inquiry set up to enquire, inter-alia, into the sequence of events leading to the events in the RJB-BM complex at Ayodhya on 6 December, 1992 continued. The Commission permitted S/Shri Prabhat Kumar, Shekhar Agarwal and other 8B notices, who had gone in writ (against the 8B notices issued to them by the Commission) and whose writs were dismissed by the  Delhi High Court, vide its order dated 23.7.1996, to inspect, if they so desired, the records available in the Commission, to enable them to prepare their defence. The Commission also directed them to file lists of the witnesses they wished to examine/cross examine. The Commission continued with the investigation.
