More than a fortnight has passed since the unfortunate incident but the situation in the Jamia campus is not yet fully back to normal. On behalf of your teachers and well-wishers and on my own behalf, I once again reiterate my appeal to you to work for the restoration of the academic atmosphere and utilise your time to prepare yourselves for the examinations resuming from April 26.

As far as your demands and our grievances are concerned, I have taken them to the relevant quarters of the Government. I have had discussions with the Home Minister, L.K. Advani, Lt. Governor Delhi, Vijai Kapoor and Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit. These discussions have produced some favourable results. In this day and age of stiff competition, time is of the essence. The examinations should resume from the announced date, otherwise losses suffered by you will be difficult to compensate and it will have adverse consequences for your career. This crucial aspect of the situation should not be lost sight of. Your guardians and well-wishers have already advised you to this effect.

Through this letter, I once again request you to assist your teachers and elders to bring back normalcy on the campus and concentrate fully on the preparations for your examinations.
