According to the statistics available with the home ministry, of the 866 foreign mercenaries killed in the state, 123 are from Afghanistan. The number of mercenaries taken prisoners is 159, which includes 23 Afghans. The maximum number of those killed (866) are either from Pakistan or POK. Likewise, the maximum number of those arrested (133) is also from Pakistan and POK. The remaining are isolated cases from countries like Sudan, Egypt. Lebanon and Chechanya.
