Three old buildings of historical importance in the Wallen city would be adopted for conservation (as decided by Lt. Governor Vijai Kapoor at a meeting of the recently-reconstituted Delhi Urban Heritage Foundation. The three buildings are Delhi College and Anglo-Arabic School at Ajmeri Gate, a school building at Kucha Patiram and the Old Stephen's College at Kashmere Gate.

This was the first meeting of the Foundation which was reconstituted under the chairmanship of the Lt .- Governor consisting representatives of DDA, Delhi Government, Union Ministry of Urban Development, ASI Director-Genetal, NGOs and eminent historians. The guidelines for the appropriate utilisation of the three buildings is yet to be framed (but they) would be preserved by the Delhi Urban Heritage Foundation or by the Delhi Government.

.. According to a recent survey by the INTACH, 1,208 buildings have been identified which have a historical importance and background .. It was also decided that the Mehrauli heritage zone, that has many historically significant structures, would be developed as an archaeological park. Similarly, Sultan Ghari Tomb and its precincts with scattered ruins should be conserved in keeping with long term objectives of ... regeneration of this area.

Directions were issued that the Tughalqabad Fort area ... should be properly landscaped and preserved.
