During the period under report the formation of Council and its Committees was under process.

Therefore, no meeting of the Council and its Committees were held.

The Central Government have released grant-in-aid amount to Rs.1477.94 lakhs to the Council upto March, 1997 including Rs. 165 lakhs during 1996-97.

The Council upto the close of the financial year 1996-97 have released loan to 87 approved projects to the tune of Rs.1505.41 lakhs, which includes Rs.27.47 lakhs from Revolving Fund and Rs.1477.94 lakhs from the grant-in-aid. Out of the total schemes financed so far, 40 schemes had been completed and 14 Wakf Institutions had refunded the loan amounting to Rs.31.83 lakhs, due to non starting of the work ... and 33 projects are under construction. During 1996-97 a budget provision of Rs.90.15 lakhs was earmarked for Educational programmes. With the concurrence of Chairman, Central Wakf Council, a sum of Rs.36,65,500.00 was disbursed. The details of which is as under:
