Canadian media continue to discriminate against Muslims by identifying them and their religion with violence, reports The Toronto Star citing a year-long study. The study found 350 stories out of about 1,300 news stories carried by seven daily Canadian newspapers during the year ending in August - about one in four -made irrelevant or unfair references to Muslims.

"Muslims are often portrayed as violent people and we believe that can lead to increased hate crimes against Muslims", said (the head) of the second annual "Anti- Islam in the Media' Study by the Canadian Islamic Congress .... (Source: The Radiance Viewsweekly)
