CPI Demands Resignation of Advani and Others Central Secretariat Statement, 8 May, 1998

The CPI has taken serious objections to interpretation from the PMO sources to dub the act of demolition of a place of worship as a political act. This is mockery of politics and adds insult to the injury inflicted on the minorities.

In fact the demolition ... is a heinous crime - a crime against the secular foundations of the country and its Constitution. How can people alleged to have a role in such a crime remain ministers? How can any one expect an impartial probe and justice when a chargesheeted person heads the Home ministry? Therefore, the CPI demands their resignation or removal from the Cabinet, immediately.
