The Babari Masjid Movement Coordination Committee (BMMCC) has decided to organise a National Convention on Babari Masjid on 17 February, 1991 in Ghalib Institute, New Delhi-110002.

The purpose of the Convention is to review the progress towards the restoration of the Babari Masjid, to remove the confusion, created by the officially sponsored 'negotiation' between the AIBMAC and the VHP and Shri Chandra Swami and to chalk out the future course of action to expedite a solution of the dispute.

Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi, the foremost Islamic Scholar of the country, has been invited to inaugurate the Convention. Swami Akshay Brahmachari, the eminent Gandhian Savant, has kindly agreed to preside over the convention.

Apart from the activists of the Movement at the national, state and district levels, the national officebearers of all supporting organisations are expected to participate in the Convention.

Invitation has also been extended to the leaders of various political parties and non-political organisations and eminent individuals who have, over the last 5 years, taken interest in the cause of the restoration of the Babari Masjid.

A 7 Member Organising Committee has been formed with Mr. S. Shahabuddin, as Chairman
