It has long been suspected that the RSS is functioning as an extra-constitutional control on the BJP-led Government, of which your Party forms a part. The latest report that the RSS leadership is to review the performance of the Union Government during June 24-27 and that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are to brief them on their probiems, tasks and performance confirms the above assumption.

If the Prime Minister and BJP Ministers were to account for their performance during the first 100 days to the BJP, the Party to which they belong, that would be in accordance with the democratic practice. On the other hand, all democrats would question not only the BJP but its coalition partners as to whether the Government is responsible and accountable to the Indian people, the Indian Parliament or to a private body called the RSS?

I feel that this is not only gives a disturbing signal but also jeopardise the survival of democracy in the country. I request you to take notice of this development.
