Now that the Lok Sabha has been dissolved and fresh elections are due ... we have no doubt whatsoever that the electorate will give a thumping majority to the BJP and its allies and mandate ... Atal Behari Vajpayee to head the next government in March ...

1. The people of India did not want a mid-term poll. Rather, this costly and wholly unnecessary election  has been thrust on them. Hence, they are determined to punish those parties which precipitated the recent political crisis ... The BJP played no contributory role in its genesis or unfoldment.

2. Muslims and the minorities have seen through the self-serving game of the UF-Congress combine to paint the BJP as "anti-minorities". There is a growing realisation in the Muslim community that any strategy that aims to keep the BJP out by hook or by crook, and to use the Muslim "vote-bank" as the pivot of such a strategy, is hurtful to Muslim and national interests

... BJP (has) growing appeal among the depressed sections of society. Similarly, our consistent and principled espousal of 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State legislatures has expanded the BJP's appeal among women voters.

3. The UF and the Congress had hijacked the mandate of ... 1996 elections by treating the BJP, which had the largest number of seats in the Lok Sabha, as an "untouchable" ... The people are all set to punish the combine and give the BJP and its allies a chance.

4. The so-called "Dream Budget" of the UF Government has turned out to be a nightmare for the nation's economy ... Industrial slow-down, stagnation in agricultura growth, continuing infrastructural bottlenecks, slump in exports and, most recent, ... fall in the rupee's value have pushed the Indian economy into a deep crisis ... The common man ... knows ... that political instability is the main factor behind the crisis.

5. The people of India are hungering for a stable and good government at the Centre .. Stability card ... will be the BJP's trump card ..

6. The BJP has two trump cards ... If "stable government" is one of them, "able Prime Minister" is the other ... India is waiting to be led by a leader like Atal Behari Vajpayee whose ability is enhanced by his universal supra-party popularity.

For the first time ... the people of India have only once choice for the Prime Minster's office: Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee ... The conspicuous failure of the Congress and the UF to present any candidate ... places them at a clear disadvantage.

7. The Congress party is disintegrating at the margins ... and decaying at the Centre ... The United Front is almost certain to get disunited before the polls. The situation will undoubtedly benefit the BJP.

8. The Janata Dal, is in the process of performing the vanishing trick ...

9.The certainty of BJP's victory ... is hastening the realignment of political forces in the country and, conversely, the realignment of the political forces is contributing to the certainty of the BJP's victory.
