BJP Leader L.K. Advani On BJP'S Electoral Strategy

...The main issue is going to revert back to... mainly how... the unity of this country (can) be preserved. What is nationalism? How do you ensure social harmony and communal harmony? And in that context what is secularism? These issues have been there all along but have been very sharply focussed as a result of Ayodhya... At the level of the common man, the common voter, it will continue to be Ayodhya... This I believe is going to be the principal issue in this election.

...Only by our adding roti to Ram, the focus would continue to be on Ram... Ayodhya events, the events of October-November 1990, are not so close to the elections. But (for) every voter... one of the principal considerations in his mind and which is going to affect his verdict is which party is in favour of Ram temple being built at the birthplace of Ram and which party has been courting this very natural desire of the majority in this country. And to that extent Ayodhya is going to influence this polls in a very large measure.

...In the whole country... the mood seem(s) to be BJP and non-BJP and so the more the number of candidates in the non-BJP camp, the greater the advantage to the BJP.
