I have just seen a press report that the Government of Karnataka have stopped admission in professional colleges in the State for non-Karnataka students. I hope that the ban does not apply to minority institutions, because in no part of the country can the minorities limit the scope of their educational institutions to local candidates only. In fact, such institutions are planned by the community for the whole community dispersed throughout the country. I would, therefore, be grateful if the minority institutions are formally exempted from this Order.
