Action Committee To Defend The Plight Of The Muslims In India

Memorandum

The Action Committee to Defend the Plight of the Muslims in India express(es) our concern regarding the plight of our fellow Muslims in India. We demand the mosque and the right of the Muslims to perform their rites be safeguarded.

### We strongly feel:

...To guarantee world peace and Hindu-Muslim relations, the Babari Mosque built 400 years ago by the Muslims in India...and all the mosques in India and the lives and the properties of the Muslims in India should be protected and respected by the Hindus.

...The World Hindu Council (VHP) should, therefore, avoid the Muslims from retaliating against the Hindus (in) their countries which will worsen the situation.

Today's modern world requires collective responsibility towards strengthening positive human relations between races and religions. Exploitation of religious feelings (of) the Hindu and denying... basic Muslim rights for the purpose of popularity of a certain political party is against humanitarian values.

### Therefore the Committee:

a) Strongly condemns the extremist actions that violate the basic rights of the Muslims in India. The actions of the militant Hindus are against the teachings of the Hindu religion itself and that they have to be regarded as truly uncivilised.

b) Demands the Government of India to take positive actions to secure peace and to safeguard the rights of the Muslims in India. We put full responsibility to the Government of the India leadership of Chandra Shekhar so that the Hindu fanatics' group would stop all suppression (of)... the Muslims and (violation of) their places of worship....

c) Call all the Governments of Muslim countries, the OIC, World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), International Islamic Federation of Students Organisation (IIFSO), World Islamic Call Council (WICC), World Islamic People Leadership (WIPL) and Rabitat al-Alam al-Islami to meet and discuss this issue and take immediate action (and demand that) violent actions of this militant group should be immediately stopped.

d) Call all the Hindu Organisations in Malaysia to play their role in advising the Hindu militant groups in India to stop the tyranny against the Muslims in order to secure peaceful relationship between the followers of both religions.

 e) Demands the United Nations, especially the Security Council and Organisations which work (for) the preservation (of) the basic human rights including Amnesty International to take effective action in order to protect...human rights (of) the Muslims and their places of worship.

Therefore, we... categorically state that we are not willing to see our fellow Muslims continually...suppressed. We are also constantly aware and following closely all the suppression... (of) our Muslim brothers in India and will continue to fight to maintain truth and justice.
